Association and House Rules

21 September 2026.

Membership during a gap year

Students taking a gap year may continue their membership, provided they submit a written explanation of their reasons for the gap year in advance. This explanation must be submitted at the time of registration and will be assessed by the board, which reserves the right to refuse the request if the reason is deemed insufficient.

Membership for graduates

Graduates may remain a member for up to one year after completing their studies. This transition period lets recently graduated members gradually wind down their involvement. Graduates who did not continue their membership during their final year of study, or who had already left the association, can no longer take out a membership unless explicitly approved by the board.

Guest policy

Members may bring an unlimited number of guests to the sociëteit. The same guest, however, may visit at most twice. After two visits, that person needs to take out a membership to keep coming. Exceptions can be made for specific themed nights and activities, such as open parties or special events, at the board's discretion.

Unacceptable behaviour

Unwanted sexual attention, racism, discrimination, and aggression are never tolerated. Violations can lead to immediate suspension and being reported to the police.

Violating the house rules

The board oversees compliance with these house rules. Violations result in appropriate sanctions under the association's sanctions policy. Criminal offences are always reported to the police.

Changing the house rules

These house rules are an internal matter for the association. Changes can only be made during the General Members' Meeting, and require a majority vote.

In the sociëteit: instructions and safety

Visitors must always follow the instructions of the board, the bar committee, and security staff. The board and bar committee reserve the right to refuse entry at any time to anyone who doesn't follow the rules.

Any form of violence or discrimination is not tolerated and can lead to immediate removal from the sociëteit and being reported to the police.

Entry, glassware, and outside drinks

The sociëteit may only be entered and exited through the back door. Bikes must be parked in the designated spots, not on the street behind the sociëteit.

Taking glasses, cups, cans, or other containers outside is prohibited, as is bringing your own glasses, bottles, or cans in from outside; these will be confiscated at the entrance.

Bringing your own drinks or food into the sociëteit isn't allowed, unless the board has given prior permission for a special occasion.

Weapons and drugs

Possessing weapons, including large pocket knives, is strictly forbidden. Violations lead to immediate removal and being reported to the police.

Consuming, using, bringing, or dealing drugs is strictly forbidden. Violations result in an immediate police report.

Property and other spaces

Taking association property off the premises is forbidden. If association property is damaged or destroyed, the board has the right to recover the costs from whoever caused it and to file a police report.

Visitors may not enter spaces in the building other than the sociëteit without permission from the board or bar committee. This rule doesn't apply to board members and bar committee members.

CCTV and fire safety

Camera footage is recorded in and around the sociëteit. By entering, you consent to being recorded. This footage can be used as evidence for the police and judicial authorities in the event of an incident.

Blocking (emergency) exits, or using them outside of an emergency, is forbidden. In the event of an emergency, everyone follows the board's instructions.
